1: What is Japan PSE certification?
PSE certification is Japan's mandatory safety certification, which is used to prove that electrical and electronic products have passed the safety standard test of Japan Electric and Material Safety Law (DENAN Law) or international IEC standards.
Japan's DENTORL Law (Electrical Device and Material Control Law) stipulates that electronic and electrical products entering the Japanese market must pass safety certification. Among them, 161 kinds of A-type products should obtain the diamond-shaped PSE mark, and 341 kinds of B-type products should obtain the circular PSE mark.
2: What is the scope of PSE certified products?
There are two types of PSE certification: PSE diamond certification and PSE round certification.
1. PSE diamond certification - specific electrical products (specified products), including 116 kinds of products;

2. PSE circular certification - non-specified electrical products (non-specified products), including 341 kinds of products;

3: What is the process for PSE certification?
Simply put, there are four steps!
1. The applicant provides samples (the battery needs to have PSE certification or CB certification) and application documents;
2. Carry out sample testing;
3. The applicant confirms the draft report
4. Issue the test report.
4: What documents do I need to prepare for PSE certification?
1. PSE data list:
a) Application form for opening a case;
b) Product instruction manual;

2. Battery PSE data list:
a) Application form for opening a case;
b) Specifications of cells and batteries;

Note: METI is filed in Japan, and all products certified by PSE must be filed with METi.
5: How long is the PSE certification cycle?
1. Mobile power product certification cycle: 10 working days;
2. Battery product certification cycle: 20 working days;
3. Other round PSE certification cycle: 10 working days;
4. Diamond PSE certification cycle: 20 working days.
6: How long is the PSE certification valid for?
1. PSE circular certificate validity period: 1 year, 2 years, 3 years (depending on the product)
2. PSE diamond certificate validity period: 3 years, 5 years, 7 years (depending on the product)
