1. Introduction of E-mark certification


E-Mark/e-Mark is the European common market. For automobiles and motorcycles and their safety spare parts, noise and exhaust gas, etc., product certification is carried out in accordance with the regulations of the European Union [EEC Directives] and the Regulations of the Economic Commission for Europe [ECE Regulation]. The certificate of conformity granted by the party to ensure the safety of driving and the requirements of environmental protection.


2. E-mark certification mark


Europe has safety certification requirements for motor vehicles and safety-related components and systems, which are embodied in the E-mark and e-mark certification.


One of the E-Mark/e-Mark certification marks is a round frame; the other is a rectangular frame, which represent different meanings.


The E mark originates from the Regulations promulgated by the Economic Commission of Europe (ECE). It is the European market for automobiles, locomotives and their safety spare parts, noise and exhaust gas, etc., all need to pass the product certification requirements in accordance with the provisions of the European Union Directives (EEC Directives) and the European Economic Commission (ECE Regulation), that is, to grant a certificate of conformity. Rectangular outer frame: refers to products that can be used normally but not necessarily when the vehicle is stopped and running, such as: car chargers, car lamps/torches, etc.

3. E-mark certification process and cycle


1. E-mark certification process


1) The manufacturer prepares product information documents, materials and samples;


Information includes:


A. COP protocol (not provided by the applicant and the manufacturer at the same time).


B. The manufacturer provides a system certificate to confirm whether factory inspection is required.


2) Start the test and test the project:


l Radiation disturbance (30~1000MHz);


l Transient conducted emission (fast pulse/slow pulse);


l Power line transient conduction immunity (pulse1/2a/2b/3a/3b/4);


l Radiation immunity - anechoic chamber method (400~2000MHz);


l Radiated immunity - Harness excitation method (20~400MHz).


3) Submit the test report and manufacturer's technical data for review.


4) Certificate issued by the transportation department of European countries (the issuing agency may conduct regular or irregular follow-up factory inspections on certified product manufacturers).


2. E-mark certification cycle


Usually 3-6 weeks.


3. CE certification (EN50498) certification process


1) Provide application forms, product information documents, samples, including supporting wiring harnesses


2) Test out the report


Test items:


l Radiation disturbance (30~1000MHz);


l Power line transient conduction emission (fast pulse + slow pulse);


l Power line transient conduction immunity (pulse1/2a/2b/3a/3b/4).


4. Certification cycle and number of samples


1) CE certification (EN50498) certification cycle generally takes 3-5 working days.
