Certification process
Like ISO9000 quality system, ISO14000 environment system and OHASl8000 safety system certification, SA8000 social responsibility management system certification process generally includes the following steps:
1. The company submits the application form. When the company has completed the preparatory work and basically meets the certification conditions, it can submit an application to the certification body, or submit an application in advance, and prepare under the guidance of the certification body.
2. Evaluation and acceptance. The certification body will review the application submitted by the company to check whether the content meets the basic requirements for certification. If it meets the requirements, it will be accepted.
3. First visit. The social responsibility management system pays great attention to on-site performance, and it is necessary to visit the auditee before the audit. The purpose of the initial visit is to determine the scope of the audit, understand the current situation of the company, collect relevant information and determine the workload of the audit.
4. Sign the contract. The certification body and the entrusting party can sign a contract on the audit scope, audit criteria, audit report content, audit time, and audit workload, determine a formal cooperative relationship, and pay the application fee.
5. Submit documents. After the contract is signed, the auditee shall provide the certification body with the social responsibility management manual, procedural documents and relevant background materials for the certification body to pre-examine the documents.
6. Form an audit team. After signing the contract, the certification body shall designate an audit team leader to form an audit team and start preparations.
7. Document pre-review. The audit team leader organizes members of the audit team to pre-review the documents. If there are major problems in the social responsibility management documents, the auditee or the entrusting party will be notified, and the auditee will revise and resubmit the documents. If there are no major issues with the document, preparation for a formal review begins.
8. Audit preparation. The audit team leader organizes the audit team members to formulate the audit plan, determine the audit scope and schedule, and prepare the on-site audit checklist.
9. Pre-trial. If the client deems it necessary, it can request the certification body to conduct a pre-audit before the formal certification audit, so as to take corrective measures in a timely manner to ensure that the formal audit is passed once.
10. Certification audit. The certification body shall conduct the certification audit on the auditee according to the audit plan.
11. Submit the audit report and conclusion. According to the audit results, there may be three conclusions, namely, recommended registration, delayed registration and postponed registration.
12. Approved by the technical committee. For companies recommended by the audit team for registration, the technical committee of the certification body examines whether to approve the registration. If it is not approved, it needs to be re-examined.
13. Approval of registration. The certification body approves the registration of the certified company.
14. Issue the certificate. Certification bodies issue SA8000 certification to approved companies.
