Introduction to REACH Certification
‘Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals’. This is the European Union's regulatory framework for the precautionary management of all chemicals entering its market, formally implemented on 1 June 2007. This regulatory proposal addresses the safe production, trade, and use of chemicals. Its objectives include safeguarding human health and environmental security, maintaining and enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemical industry, fostering innovation in developing non-toxic compounds, preventing market distortion, increasing transparency in chemical usage, promoting non-animal testing, and pursuing sustainable social development. The REACH Regulation mandates that all chemicals imported into or produced within Europe must undergo a comprehensive set of procedures—including registration, evaluation, authorisation, and restriction—to better and more simply identify chemical constituents, thereby ensuring environmental and human safety. The regulation primarily comprises several key components: registration, evaluation, authorisation, and restriction.

Purpose of REACH Certification:
To protect human health and the environment;
To maintain and enhance the competitiveness of the EU chemical industry; Enhance transparency of chemical information; Reduce vertebrate animal testing; Align with the EU's international obligations under the WTO framework. In essence, the REACH Regulation will drive innovation within the chemical industry, enabling the production of safer products, fostering competition and growth. Unlike the current complex regulatory framework, REACH will establish a unified chemical management system across the EU, allowing businesses to produce new chemicals and their products under consistent principles.
Content of REACH Certification:
Registration: All chemical substances with an annual production or import volume exceeding 1 tonne require registration. Substances exceeding 10 tonnes annually must additionally submit a Chemical Safety Report.
Evaluation: Comprises dossier evaluation and substance evaluation. Dossier evaluation verifies the completeness and consistency of registration dossiers submitted by companies. Substance evaluation involves confirming the risks posed by chemical substances to human health and the environment. Authorisation: Production and importation of chemical substances possessing certain hazardous properties that warrant high societal concern are subject to authorisation, including CMR, PBT, vPvB substances, etc.
Restriction: If it is deemed that the manufacture, placing on the market, or use of a substance, its preparations, or articles poses risks to human health or the environment that cannot be adequately controlled, its production or importation within the EU will be restricted. Note: PBT denotes persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances; vPvB denotes very persistent and very bioaccumulative substances; CMR denotes carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic substances.
REACH Certification Testing Procedure:
1. Complete the REACH Testing Application Form and submit it with samples to our company, or arrange for samples (accompanied by the REACH Testing Application Form) to be delivered to our company via a designated courier service.
2. Pay the testing fee upon sample delivery. If samples are sent to our company, relevant personnel will first fax a payment notification to the client. The client must transfer the testing fee to our company account and fax the remittance proof to us for record-keeping. Testing will be arranged upon confirmation of payment receipt.
3. Upon completion of testing, laboratory personnel will first send a PDF electronic version of the report to your company. Clients requesting a hard copy report will subsequently be processed according to the report collection method selected on the application form.
