China National Accreditation Service for conformity assessment (CNAs) and Bluetooth Technology Alliance (SIG) officially signed the Bluetooth Technology Review cooperation agreement, becoming the third accreditation body in the world to sign the agreement.
This provides great convenience for Chinese laboratories to apply for becoming sig authorized laboratories. In the future, as long as our laboratories pass the CNAs Bluetooth Technology Review and obtain the CNAs laboratory accreditation, they can meet the requirements of applying for sig Bluetooth Laboratory Qualification Authorization.
Bluetooth is a very popular wireless communication technology. Bluetooth technology alliance was founded in 1998 by Ericsson in conjunction with IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba. It is responsible for the development of Bluetooth standards and authorizes manufacturers to use Bluetooth technology and trademarks.
Manufacturers must first become sig members before using Bluetooth technology.
The products designed and produced by members shall pass the test of SIG authorized laboratory before they can be sold in the market with the "Bluetooth" trademark. By the end of 2018, the number of SIG members had reached 35000.
Due to the large number of Bluetooth product manufacturers, SIG stipulates strict product testing and certification procedures in order to ensure the interconnection between Bluetooth products of various manufacturers. The Qualification Authorization of testing laboratory has become an important link.
SIG initially authorized the laboratory through self-organization and review.
In March 2018, SIG issued a new laboratory authorization procedure, requiring authorized laboratories to pass ISO / IEC17025 accreditation. Accreditation institutions should sign a multilateral mutual recognition agreement on laboratory accreditation at the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Organization (ILAC) and a cooperation agreement with sig.
As of June 2019, SIG has 51 global authorized laboratories. The Chinese mainland has been authorized by 22 laboratories since 2007 (it is reported that Shenzhen accounts for half), and is the largest authorized economy. At the same time, there are a large number of laboratories that intend to apply.
After the release of the new laboratory authorization procedure in March 2018, Chinese laboratories were once forced to seek accreditation from overseas accreditation institutions in order to obtain sig authorization.
In the cooperation agreement, CNAs and SIG reached an agreement on the training of Bluetooth technical reviewers, the content and process of technical review, the acceptance of CNAs review results, trademark license, the use and disclosure of confidential information, and the responsibilities and obligations of other parties.
The signing of the cooperation agreement will save a lot of manpower and material costs for Chinese laboratories to apply for sig Bluetooth laboratory qualification, facilitate domestic enterprises to obtain convenient testing services and promote the development of related trade.
